Jeff Eckles, CEO
Jeff is a community-centered leader dedicated to public service, strategic impact, and building strong, healthy, vibrant communities where everyone has the opportunity to excel. With a strong foundation in finance, organizational leadership, and local government, Jeff brings a thoughtful, solutions-oriented mindset to every role he takes on.
He serves as CEO of the San Luis Obispo County Housing Trust Fund and as a City Council Member for the City of Morro Bay. Jeff is committed to increasing access to affordable housing, fostering responsible economic development, and ensuring that local government remains transparent, responsive, and rooted in the needs of the people it serves.
Known for his collaborative leadership style and practical approach to problem-solving, Jeff is passionate about helping communities thrive- especially small, coastal towns like Morro Bay, where he lives and serves. His work reflects a deep belief in the power of civic engagement and the importance of aligning vision with action.
Outside of his professional life, Jeff enjoys exploring the outdoors—whether road-tripping, hiking, or being out on the ocean. He's also a curious reader, loves a good BBQ, and relaxes by strumming his guitar (with a self-professed talent for singing along rather poorly.)
A survivor of severe childhood physical abuse and trauma, Jeff carries a deep personal commitment to seeking justice in the world, and is driven to advocate for those who are too often overlooked or taken advantage of. His work reflects a belief that public service is a calling—and that real leadership means lifting others while standing up for what’s right. At his core, Jeff is someone who leads with integrity and heart, always striving to lift others and leave things better than he found them.
